2026The External Service Panel (ESP) is an initiative that took shape in Q3-Q4 2025. A new team was formed at the start of 2026, to build a dashboard for Upvest's external stakeholders (businesses) to manage orders and transactions that were created using Upvest's Investment API.
Nav Patterns & Page Structure
In Q1-Q2 2026, when the ESP team was being hired, I led the project on the design side and started answering some questions by creating a structure for the pages, providing options for essential functionalities and confirming navigation patters between pages.
Search / Filter / Sort
Below are some options I proposed for essential functionalities like search, filter and sort. The plan was to propose the options to Upvest's customers and to build the functions based on the preferences.
Users Section & its tabs
In the beginning, we started simple, focused only on Users and Orders to be used in a prototype for the external stakeholders. We even planned on re-using some components from the Back-Office Tooling, in addition to maybe also adding a design library in the future.
Orders Section
Orders, was the next module I focussed on after the Users section. Initially, we only designed the Orders and Order Details, to be included in a prototype of the ESP. The order details page is also what will be called when the user clicks on an order from the Users → Orders.
I started working on the ESP in Q1 2026 spending 20% of my time on it. That grew to 50% in Q2 2026 when the Product Lead was hired. And in July, I left Upvest to travel the World on my new German Passport.
